Synopsis

Bioforms. Identification. is a performance exploring the relationship between body and space, identity and transformation. Performers construct a narrative through movement sequences that gradually reveal different layers of human experience – from primal instincts to complex forms of communication.

The performance was directed by Vitalij Ljubota, a Ukrainian artist who created this work just before the outbreak of war in 2022. The piece carries special significance – it stands as the director's last completed artistic project before the dramatic change in reality.

"Our bodies carry the memory of forms – biological, emotional, social. The performance is an attempt to identify them."

About the ensemble

MTT Musical Theatre Troupe is a Lithuanian theatre ensemble operating under the Lithuanian Association of Disabled Persons. MTT brings together professional actors, professional musicians, and a very sensitive social group – people with disabilities – creating a unique space for integrated artistic expression.

The ensemble builds performances based on body expression, rhythm, and organic narrative structures. MTT's creative practices are rooted in experimentation and collective search for a scenic language that transcends verbal forms of communication.

MTT has participated in international festivals in Latvia, Poland, Ukraine, and Belarus, where they have won awards and recognition from audiences and theatre critics. Central to their work is the principle of open composition – each performance evolves through a process of collective improvisation and movement documentation.
